Our Favorite Springtime Activities for You and Your Family

April showers bring May flowers! The weather is finally warming up, so it’s time to plan a list of fun springtime activities for you and your family. If you need a bit of inspiration when it comes to planning a spring itinerary, you’re in luck! We’re here to help you make the most of the spring season with a list of our favorite outdoor activities to do in spring.

Visit Seasonal Pop-Ups and Street Markets

Seasonal pop-up events and outdoor street markets are an enjoyable way to spend time outdoors with friends and family. Often hosted in major cities and parks, pop-up events and markets usually consist of vendors and artists sharing their products and talent. These events are often posted online or on social media, so be sure to look online for your local city’s travel postings.

For example, if you live in the Philadelphia area, Visit Philadelphia has a great “Things to Do” section, detailing pop-ups, festivals, and more!

Take a Nature Walk or Bike Ride

After a rainy April, there’s nothing better than getting outside and spending some time in the sun. The spring season is the perfect time to go for a hike through nature, as the weather is not too hot – ideal for light layering. Whether you plan to return to a familiar park or you’d like to explore a new trail, an outdoor hike or bike ride is an excellent choice for you and your family. Simply choose your park, trail, or bike path, pack and lunch, and head out for your adventure! We recommend bringing a backpack that’s easy to hike with, so you’ll have a place to store food, water, your cell phone, and any layers that you remove during your time outside.

Finally, make sure to check the pollen count before heading outside if you’re sensitive to spring allergens!

Explore Your Creativity With Tie-Dye

Looking for an exciting spring activity to do in your own backyard? Tie-dying is the perfect way to show off your creativity, while crafting your very own unique piece!

To get started, you’ll only need a few supplies. We suggest purchasing a tie-dye kit, as these kits usually include bottles, dye, rubber bands, and gloves. Along with your kit, you’ll need some white clothing to dye – we love t-shirts, tank tops, cotton shorts, and socks! Simply follow the instructions on the box to mix your dye, rubber band your clothing, and add your dye. Place your creation in a plastic bag to absorb the dye and follow the instructions on your kit when rinsing and drying. Enjoy your one-of-a-kind pieces!
