Hosting a Christmas in July Party?

It's that time of year! If you plan on hosting a Christmas in July gathering this month, here are some ideas to make your event awesome.

Décor

When throwing an awesome Christmas in July party, you need to have the décor to match. The focal point of your party lays in your tree and how you decorate it. To change it up, you can add some non-traditional ornaments/garland to your tree.

Here is one of our favorites:

Other then just having a tree, there is so much more that can be added to truly make it extravagant. Whether it is a wreath, garland, or a candle holder, an extra touch to go along with your tree will really pull everything together.

Treats

1.Frozen hot chocolate bar

A simple recipe to take your normal hot chocolate to the next level. The ingredients you will need are one packet of hot chocolate mix, one cup of chocolate milk and ice. Next blend in a blender and it is ready to enjoy. To boost your frozen hot chocolate, you can add a toppings bar. Putting out some mini marshmallows, Oreos, or sprinkles the toppings are endless but don’t forget the whipped cream! This yummy and fun treat allows you to have the great taste of Christmas with the cool temperature for the summertime.

2.Eggnog popsicles

A quick treat that takes little to no prep time. For eggnog popsicles, just pour your eggnog into popsicle molds and put in the freezer. Wait 4-5 hours to ensure the popsicles are fully frozen and they are ready to eat, enjoy!

3.M&M Pretzel Treat

This three-ingredient recipe is very easy and fun to make with all ages. First preheat your oven to 250 degrees. While you wait, lay out a pan with parchment paper and begin placing the square pretzels without touching or overlapping each other. Unwrap your Hershey kisses and place one of them in the center of each pretzel. After putting in the oven for 4 minutes, take them out to put one M&M in each center. If possible, it’s best if the M&M are red, green, and white for the Christmas theme. Pop them in the freezer and they are done and ready to eat.

Games to get the party started

1.Have a “Snowball” Fight

On a hot summer day, fill up white balloons with water and knot. Get into two teams and try to hit as many players of the opposing team as possible. This will bring out everyone’s competitive side no matter their age. A fun outdoor activity while keeping you cool!

2.Christmas Trivia

If the weather isn’t as great as you hoped, there is another alternative that is just as fun and can be done indoors or outdoors. Christmas Trivia! You can find a variety of games either online, instore, or you can even make your own. It is always fun to see what you can still remember about some old Christmas wise tales.

3.White elephant

A Classic Christmas game where you exchange gifts with each other. Everyone shows up with a wrapped gift and puts it in a pile. Everyone picks a number out of a hat to determine the order in which you pick the gifts. You can either choose a new gift out of the pile or take one that has already been chosen. If your gift gets stolen you need to pick a new gift from the pile. After everyone goes and all the presents are pulled, you can open your gifts to see what you won.
